Do what you love, and train others to love it too. The NRA basic pistol shooting course is by far the most popular course, and it is the nation wide standard for all of those looking to be trained and certified. You will learn how to use a tried and true NRA method of training.
Your students will walk away with a sense of accomplishment knowing that they were trained the right way when they have an NRA certified instructor standing behind them as their mentor.
All instructor candidates will receive the NRA trainers guide, the NRA Pistol course outline and binders. When you become an NRA instructor you will have access to special discounts on training gear through the NRA store. You will also have access to the NRA training materials center.
I do require instructor candidates to be an NRA member. Join the NRA here. The NRA has an "instructor credentialing" fee of $30 for a 2-yr term you will pay this after the class on the NRA website.
All candidates MUST complete the new ILT Basics of Pistol Shooting course. NRA has changed the format of the Basic pistol shooting course. So even if you've already taken the basic pistol shooting course in the past and it wasn't the "ILT" format you must take this new version. This is so you can see the new way things are taught and as a result of you taking it you'll receive the basics of pistol shooting handbook which will be needed to take the pistol instructors course.
This is a three part course lasting a total of 24 hours over three days. (8 hrs per day)
Part one: Take the 8hr basics of pistol shooting ILT course. This class will be held on Wednesday June 2nd ($200)
Part two: 6hrs “Basic Instructor Training” (BIT). The BIT is required for all new NRA instructors and costs ($50) The BIT will be held on Saturday the 5th from 9am – 3pm and part three will pick up immediately.
Part three: 10hrs Pistol instructor portion cost ($250) This is required by everyone attending. Part three will be held Saturday the 5th from 3pm – 6pm and Sunday the 6th from 9am – 5pm.
What to bring to class:
Eye and ear protection
A pistol anywhere from 22lr to .45acp (whatever you shoot best with)

The "Basics of pistol shooting handbook" that you received in the basic pistol course
If you don’t have a pistol that fits these parameters I will loan you a Glock 17 or 19 9mm just supply the ammunition (no reloads).
